四川省农业科学院农业资源与环境研究所其前身为四川省农业科学院土壤肥料研究所。始建于1938年9月，是在原四川省农业改进所农业化学组的基础上发展建立起来的一个农业科研所。1973年正式建所。在农业部组织的“十一五” 全国农业科研机构综合实力评估中排名28位，专业排名第三位。2021年4月更名为四川省农业科学院农业资源与环境研究所。
现有在职职工70人，高、中级职称人员56人，其中研究员11人，副高级职称21人，助研22人，博士27人，硕士29人；省学术和技术带头人3人，学术和技术带头人后备人选5人，四川省杰出青年学术技术带头人1人，蓉城英才乡村振兴领军人才1人，国务院政府津贴专家1人，省政府政府津贴专家1人，省劳动奖章获得者1人。下设党委办公室、行政办公室、条件财务办公室、科技管理办公室（科技成果转化中心）四个职能部门和土壤与耕作研究中心（土地资源与区域发展研究中心）、农业环境研究中心、植物营养与肥料研究中心、节水农业与灾害防控研究中心、饲草与绿肥研究中心、分析测试研究中心、绿色低碳农业与环境微生物研究中心等七个业务科室。拥有国家地方联合工程实验室1个，农业部重点实验室1个，重点学科群科学观测实验站1个，省发改委工程中心1个。
从事土壤健康、环境微生物、植物营养与新型肥料、农业节水与智能装备、农业资源可持续利用、农业环境保护与生态修复、绿色低碳技术、饲草绿肥与耕作栽培等研究应用；开展国内外合作、人才培养、技术培训、科普等活动；开展资源调查、作物种植、检验检测、生态环境监测与评价、规划咨询等技术服务；完成院交办的任务。利用农业科研资源、平台为地方政府、企业、规模化农庄农户提供乡村振兴系统、集成解决方案及部分实施。近年来，获省级以上重大科研成果82项，其中参与获得国家科技进步二等奖3项;获得国家授权专利和软件著作权144项，其中发明专利30项，实用新型专利97项，软件著作权16项。通过审（认）定的新品种11个，其中国家审(认)定8个，编制省级地方标准22项，应用推广技术37个。研究紧密结合四川农业生产实际，取得了显著的经济、社会效益，为全省农业生产发展和脱贫攻坚做出了重大贡献。
Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment, SAAS
Introduction
Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment (IARE) at Sichuan Academy of Agricultural Sciences (SAAS), formerly known as Soil and Fertilizer Research Institute of SAAS, was founded in September 1938. In the eleventh five-year plan organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, IARE was ranked 28 in its comprehensive strength and ranked 3 in its professional strength among all the agriculture research institutes nationwide In April 2021, it was renamed Institute of Agricultural Resources and Environment, SAAS.
As of October 2024, there are 71 employees in IARE, among which 56 are with senior and intermediate professional titles and this includes 11 researchers, 21 associate researchers and 22 research assistants. Also, 27 staff hold doctoral degrees while 29 are with master’s degrees Additionally, IARE has 3 provincial academic and technical leaders, 5 backup candidates for academic and technical leaders, 1 outstanding young academic and technical leader in Sichuan Province, 1 leading talent in rural revitalization in Rongcheng, 1 expert subsidized by the State Council Government, 1 expert subsidized by the provincial government, and 1 recipient of the Provincial Labor Medal. Etc. IARE has 7 research centers: Soil and Farming Research Center, Agricultural Environment Research Center, Plant Nutrition and Fertilizer Research Center, Water-saving Agriculture Research Center, Forage Grass and Green Manure Research Center, Analysis and Testing Research Center, and Green Low-carbon Agriculture Environmental Microbiology Research Center. There are also 4 functional departments of management catering for party affairs, administration, finance and scientific research management. Further, IARE has 1 national and local joint engineering laboratory, 1 key laboratory of the Ministry of Agriculture, 1 scientific observation and experimental station of key disciplines of the Ministry of Agriculture, and 1 engineering center of the Provincial Development and Reform Commission.
IARE is mainly engaged in research on soil health, environmental microorganisms, plant nutrition and new fertilizers, agricultural water conservation and intelligent equipment, agricultural resource sustainable utilization, agricultural environmental protection and ecological restoration, green low-carbon technologies, fodder and green manure, and cultivation and planting. It also conducts domestic and international cooperation, personnel training, technical training, popularization and other activities. In addition, IARE provides technical services such as resource surveys, crop planting, inspection and testing, ecological environment monitoring and evaluation, and planning consultation. Based on its rich agricultural research resources, IARE has provided the local government, enterprises and large-scale farms with rural revitalization systems, integrated solutions and assistance of its implementation. Over the years, as of December 2023, IARE has won 82 major scientific research achievements at or above the provincial level, among which 3 won the second prize of the state scientific and technological progress award; 144 nationally authorized patents and software copyrights were obtained including more than 30 invention patents, 97 utility model patents, and 16 software copyrights. 11new varieties have passed the examination and approval, of which 8 have been approved by the state, and 22 provincial and local standards have been formulated while 37 application extention technologies were made. IARE has always combine its research with the practical conditions of agricultural production in Sichuan, and has achieved significant economic and social benefits, making a substantial contribution to the development of agricultural production and poverty alleviation in and beyond the province constantly.
